Bible Verses About Eternal Security

Once a person is truly saved, they are eternally secure in Christ. Because they have been born again by the Spirit of God, their new life cannot be undone or reversed. Jesus promises that He will never leave nor forsake those who belong to Him (Hebrews 13:5). This means that salvation is not based on our own strength or performance, but on His unchanging faithfulness and power to keep us secure forever. Being born again is a permanent spiritual transformation—a new birth that cannot be “unborn.” Therefore, those who belong to Christ are safe in His hands, sealed by the Holy Spirit, and guaranteed eternal life.John 6:37 — “All that the Father gives me will come to me, and whoever comes to me I will never drive away.

Romans 8:1 — “Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus.”

Romans 8:35-39 — “Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall trouble or hardship or persecution or famine or nakedness or danger or sword? As it is written: ‘For your sake we face death all day long; we are considered as sheep to be slaughtered.’ No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.”

Romans 11:29 — “For God’s gifts and his call are irrevocable.”

Hebrews 2:1-3 —We must pay the most careful attention, therefore, to what we have heard, so that we do not drift away. For since the message spoken through angels was binding, and every violation and disobedience received its just punishment, how shall we escape if we ignore so great a salvation?

Hebrews 5:11-14 —We have much to say about this, but it is hard to explain because you are slow to learn. In fact, though by this time you ought to be teachers, you need someone to teach you the elementary truths of God’s word all over again. You need milk, not solid food! Anyone who lives on milk, being still an infant, is not acquainted with the teaching about righteousness. But solid food is for the mature, who by constant use have trained themselves to distinguish good from evil.

Hebrews 6:4-8 —It is impossible for those who have once been enlightened, who have tasted the heavenly gift, who have shared in the Holy Spirit, who have tasted the goodness of the word of God and the powers of the coming age, if they fall away, to be brought back to repentance, because to their loss they are crucifying the Son of God all over again and subjecting him to public disgrace.
